Advent Calenda

Easy No Sew Burlap Advent Calendar

Easy No Sew Burlap Advent Calendar

Every year, I have the best of intentions.

Every year, I am sure THIS will be the year.

The year I have an Advent calendar before December starts.

But this year really is the year.

Easy No Sew Burlap Advent Calendar

So. here is the truth.  My girls are big and an Advent calendar is not the same for them as it would be for little little ones.

They don’t need a bunch of little toys.

And honestly, the prospect of coming up with 50 (one for each) little toys to put in, makes me stress.

Vintage Doorknob Pumpkins

Vintage Doorknob Pumpkins

Grab your coupons and your sales flyer and head to the nearest craft store.

And buy the cheapest and ugliest fake pumpkin you can find.

I am going to show you how easy it is to make the ugliest pumpkins into a vintage doorknob pumpkins.

The problem with fake pumpkins – even if you paint them, the stems are usually pretty awful.  So instead of trying to make it look real, why not give it a vintage looks with some old doorknobs.

Happy Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day Sweet Friends

Truth time here.

I had a super cute Valentine's Day project for you today.

Steps on through 4 went awesome.

Step 5…total fail.

So what is a girl to do when she is buried in epic amounts of snow and her project doesn’t work?

The Greatest Gift Project

The Greatest Gift Project

In 2012, I had an idea.  Something I was so passion about, I started a whole new blog for it.  It started with a pull, that I listened to and followed.

It is called The Greatest Gift Project.

It didn’t really get very far.  That’s okay.  I was a lot smaller then so my reach was smaller.

I didn’t fully know what to do with it and it didn’t reach its potential.

I have still been keeping it running.  Waiting for another pull.

I thought this past Christmas – I might feel a bit of a pull – but nothing.  So I listened and let it wait.

Now, the pull is back.

I am feeling the pull to share this part of my heart.

The
part of my heart that believes the greatest gift you can give anyone
can not be bought in a store, or online or even cooked on a stove.

The greatest gift…

…is letting someone know they have made a difference.

…that they are important.

...that life wouldn’t be the same without them.

…that it is not just the bold gestures, but it the everyday ordinary parts of life that wouldn’t be the same without them.
