I know everyone says the same thing every year. But this year, for me, it is more true than it has ever been.

Maybe it is because we have had so many changes this summer.

Maybe it is because softball kept us so busy for the first few months.

Maybe it is because of all of the rain we have had.

But this summer has flown by way too fast.

I have worn a bathing suit once. We have a beautiful pool and I have been in it once.

We have spent so little time on our comfy porch.

I guess this is just one of those years, work to be done, projects to be completed, places to go.

And that is okay, each year is different and a blessing.

One of the projects I have been working on is getting some things ready for my parent’s beach house on LBI which as damaged in Hurricane Sandy. I shared the reclaimed wood whale art I made and now I want to share this sweet table – which is currently living on our porch until the house is ready.

Decorating with Shells

I had seen a similar table from a wonderful company and I loved the bright colors in came in. But, at $450 it certainly did not fit our budget. So, I went hunting and found this table at a yard sale for $10.

I simply cut off the unraveled wicker on the legs, turned her upside down to start, flipped her over and she was covered in one coat. It took about a can and a half to complete the project. I let her dry for a few hours and she was done.

It really can be that simple.

So even though this added one more project to the list I loved doing it.

So much, I am going to have hard time letting her go. I may be on the hunt for another wicker side table to paint this same color. By the way, the paint I used was by Rust-oleum and it was Eden in a satin finish.

So even if summer is flying by, a simple project to add color to furniture with spray paint can be a quick one to cross off the to-do list.
