Christmas / Advent Tag Ornaments - Free Printable

Are you like me and before you know it, it is December 1st and you really really meant to put together an Advent calendar? More times than not, that has been the case for me. This year however, I am so ready - and I am sharing a printable Advent calendar so that it will be super easy and quick for you so you don't miss out on pulling one together. Even better, there are so many ways to use these tags. It can be really super simple or much more intricate. But, I am getting ahead of myself.... Advent printables are not the only thing I am sharing today. I got together with an amazing group of blogger, organized by the ever talented Ella Claire Inspired, to share printables to easily help you get ready for the holidays in all kinds of ways. There are tags, art, banners, and even a pillow. Follow the links at the bottom of the post for all of the information. So, back to my Advent tags. They are super simple and fun watercolor scenes. I chose to tie them with baker's twine and hang them in a vintage window. I also added the galvanized "25" to get everything a little bit more "christmassy!". And yes, in my world, that is a word. To make your own, print out the three sheets in the link on white card stock. You will need baker's twine or ribbon, scissors and a whole punch. If you have a 2 inch paper punch that will make your life much easier. I also used a piece of scrapbook paper to add pattern to the back, but that is not necessary. If you do decide to do that, you will need a glue stick as well. You first step is to cut out each of the ornaments. If you don't have a paper punch, now worries, just use scissor. If you use the punch, you still need to cut the sections down smaller so it lines up with the ornaments. I am sure you already know this, but make sure to turn the punch upside down so you can see the ornament underneath and line up the image. The punches often have a plastic cover over the opening on the bottom, I usually just remove that. If you are backing the tags with scrapbook paper, cut out circles with the punch or by hand with scissors, and glue them to the back of each ornament with your glue stick. Whether you are adding the paper on the back or not, this is the point where you use your hole puncher to put a whole in the top of the tag. Then cut 25 pieces of ribbon or baker's twine and thread it through the hole. You are now officially done with making the actual tags. Now you have to decide what you are going to do with it! You could easily just use them as gift tags or ornaments on a tree. Or you could tie them on small packages or boxes. You could keep it simple and just put them in a tray or a bowl to be opened each day. I chose to tape mine up on my vintage window memo board. I chose to mix up with two different types of bags and a few ornaments, so the ones that I couldn't tape, I used a tack and hung them. It would also work great to use a magnet to hang them on a metal surface like this I love this little bunny ornament and it breaks up so many things being rectangles and is just super cute. And of course, the bunny had to get the bunny tag. I didn't mind not have room for the "twenty five" tag on the board and chose to hang it on the hook on the side. It makes it just a little bit more special. As far as what to put in your bags or packages, the sky is the limit. You could leave scripture verses to read each night, notes of love and encouragement, ideas of things to to through the season, candy or small gifts. It really is what works best for your family traditions. You might notice a scene hanging on the wall that goes with the tags. Since I could only fit 12 on each page, I had to start a third page. I couldn't see just leaving the whole rest of the page empty, so I put in a little bonus scene for you to print out and use as well.
