Client Work: Linda’s Family Room
Previously, I shared the living room transformation of a client of mine, Linda. You can read more about that here.
This home was built in 1981 and pretty much was as it was when it was built. It needed to be opened up, refreshed and brightened.
So that is what we set about to accomplish. The biggest changes were in the family room. Here is the room before.
We removed the wallpaper, painted all the woodwork and fireplace, replaced the furniture and crown molding and removed the carpets. There were hardwood floors underneath that we had re-finished. It was quite a dramatic transformation.
But the biggest change we made was that we removed the wall between the family room and kitchen. This what the view was looking towards the kitchen and when you entered from the front hall way.
Now it is open to the kitchen, which also had a major, but budget minded re-do.
This is the view looking towards the back sliding glass door.
And here it is now…
Here are some other views of the room.
I will share more details on the kitchen soon and other rooms in the house. If you have any questions on any of the elements of the room, please don’t be afraid to ask.
I will be sharing this project at the link parties on my tab and at the Thrifty Decor Chick.
Thanks for reading and take care,
Laura
