Thanksgiving Table Setting

I am so excited to be finishing out the week as part of Bre's, of Rooms for Rent, Thanksgiving Tablecape hop! All week, bloggers have been sharing their ideas for creating a welcoming Thanksgiving table setting and today I am sharing mine. If you are joining me from My Sweet Savannah - welcome! For me, coming up with a table idea is always a moving target. I had one idea in mind, but I kept coming back to this beautiful gray fabric I found a few weeks ago. Thanksgiving-Flower-Centerpiece

I grabbed a few yards of it when I bought the fabric for my DIY blanket. It is a printed knit and I literally just cut the length and left the slightly frayed edges. For me, it is simple and casual, easily can be washed and was inexpensive. Perfect. After I had the fabric set, I went looking for flowers and the first thing I picked up was privet berry branches. I paired it up with pink pepper berries, eucalyptus, olive branches and decorative kale. I filled an ironstone tureen with water and layered in all of the pieces on an angle until I got the look I wanted. I have never done a flower arrangement like this before and I think it is the perfect Thanksgiving floral centerpiece. Vintage-Berry-Crate-Vignette

I had some materials left so I also put together a flower arrangement in an ironstone pitcher and placed it in a vintage berry crate with some dishes and cups on the side table. I also added some berries and leaves to some small ironstone pictures and mixed them with brass candle holders. I love a white tapered candle as much as the next person, but this time of year I love burning richly colored candles even more. The berry hue of these candles make the flower arrangements stand out even more. Thanksgiving-Table-Ideas

The candlesticks are mix and match, but I only used four so that the table wasn't too crowed. Other than the candles, I made sure that anything else on the floor was low so it wouldn't block people across the table from each other. Thanksgiving-Centerpiece

I set each of the settings with simple white plates and silverware with clean lines. I like the mix of the more modern elements of the fabric print and the silverware with the more feminine style of the plates and candle holders. Privet-Berry-Ribbon-Napkin-Holder-Place-Setting-Fall-Thanksgiving

I used fabric napkins in a similar color to the candles and tied them with a small section of the same fabric I used as the tablecloth. I tucked in some eucalyptus leaves, olive leaves and privet berries to pull it all together. Privet-Berry-Place-Setting
