Galvanized Plumbing Material Succulent Garden

Today I want to share with you a succulent garden I made using galvanized plumbing material.

But first, there is story as to how I got here…

Last week, my girlfriend texted me right about the time my daughter’s bus arrives. Normally, that would not be an issue, but in this case – I was still asleep.

Yup, totally overslept. I was out cold. Swore I set an alarm. Didn’t.

Normally, it wouldn’t be a big deal – just drive her to school and hope we make it on time.

But that day – was state testing. The final day of state testing. I should point out that we missed the bus the first day of state testing as well.

That day, we were ready early – but somehow, I got the times mixed up in my head.

Needless to say, my worrying daughter was a wreck both mornings as I drove her to school.

I will be accepting my Mother of the Year award tomorrow. However, The records should clearly state that she was not late either day.

Back to last week – I found myself “in town” where my daughter goes to school. I had planned to go a big box hardware store that day – but decided to venture instead to the good old fashioned local hardware store.

An hour later, this what I came out with (along with some paint and a strange assortment of other items).

These are galvanized end caps for plumbing and heating pipes. At least that is what I think they are.

Anyone have a better explanation?

But my strange eye thought they looked like the perfect containers to plant some succulents. The texture of the galvanized metal was just perfect.

So after a few raised eyebrows from the employees as to what exactly I was doing with some end caps, paints and plants – I brought my goodies home.

And made a pretty galvanized succulent garden.

It was simple, easy and inexpensive – and I think quite unique and pretty.

So, hurry now – head to the hardware store to make your own!
