Simple Spring Flower Centerpiece - 10 Minute Decorating
I have been off my "decorating game" lately, so I decide the best place to start was with a 10 Minute Decorating Idea, and I think it might be one of my favorites. It really was so super quick, it was inexpensive and it involves my favorite color - galvanized. I have decided that the color purple brings out the "color in the eyes" of anything galvanized. I see our deck filled this year with purple flowers in all of our vintage pots and containers. To put together this simple project, I started with five larger containers and three smaller ones. I used empty syrup jars (I wonder where I got those from?!), but really, you can use anything you have. It is nice to have a least two different sizes. I have a total of an even number, but it is two groups of an odd number and I always like things grouped in odd numbers. I took two bunches of grocery store tulips and instead of just putting them together in one container like I often do, I broke them up across the eight containers. I mixed them up in random order and put them on a galvanized tray. This particular tray is a vintage piece that is actually a corn dryer. You fill it with water and heat it with the corn on the tray. Of course, when I bought it, the woman I bought from and I decided it had something to do with seafood on ice. I think that would be a fun way to serve something one of these days. I put these on my kitchen table, but you could easily skip the tray and line them up on a mantel or a console table. It is a simple and quick way to bring in a little bit of color and a little bit of spring. Of course, now that spring break is just a few days away for use, they are saying the snow is coming. Oh well, we can't control it, but at least we can complain about it - ha! And even though this was such as simple and quick idea, I thought it would be fun to do a short video sharing how I put it together. It was such a simple little change, but it has been one I have enjoyed so much. In fact, late in the afternoon, the light has been hitting them just beautifully. I shared this picture on Instagram...
