Merry and Bright Christmas Table
Christmas has come to our dining room and it is feeling Merry and Bright!
To begin, I believe this is the first time I am showing this wall since I made some changes. The starting point was the stunning painting by Jennifer Lanne that can be found from Jen O’Connor at Earth Angels Toys. I had the incredible pleasure to meet both of them when I bought this painting earlier this year. The painting brought the perfect pop and I chose a black background to tie in with my collection of Toleware trays. I had been wanting a painting of hers for several years and was so glad to finally find the perfect one for our home.
I started our table with my favorite Christmas tablecloth. It is a beautiful green and has stripes of red, burgundy, pink and a lighter green.
Each of the place settings have a gold charger bought at the Christmas Tree Shops years ago. The china, silverware and crystal are actually our wedding gifts and I break them out at Christmas each year.
I decided to also incorporate some of my vintage silver-plate serving pieces. I wanted a variety of heights, so I stacked several pieces on top of each other. The bowl below is stacked on a gravy boat.
I added my Grandmother’s candlesticks, mercury glass trees and a bunch of my vintage ornaments.
I wanted to do a very different feel in this room – and very different from out kitchen’s more rustic setting. I also really wanted to bring in lots of color – especially the combination of red and pink.
Each of the little ceramic pieces on the plates are actually light bulbs from a vintage light set. They do not work any longer, but are still so beautiful. The little “screw in” part is wrapped in ribbon and tucked under the riboon.
Then I made a tag on Photoshop Elements.
I added a little bit of glitter and tied in around the napkin as well.
I am still learning Photoshop, but if you are interested in me sharing the tag, let me know in the comments and I will make it available.
I will be sharing at the parties you can find here and at
