Finding Fall Home Tour – Fall Decorating Ideas
Welcome sweet friends to our home! It is my favorite time of the year - fall! Now, lets get the fall home tour started! Our dining room is set really simple and welcoming this year.
I simply ran a length of paper down the length of the table - quick and easy and the easiest clean up you can imagine. No ironing, no washing - just remove it and put it in the recycling bin.
Fall meals are all about savory and rich and foods. Why not bring your favorite herbs right to the table. I simply planted some rosemary plants in mason jars and ran them now the center of the table. I will share more details on the table next week.
Our vintage door plate wall is still the same, but I added a few fall details in front of it.
The best part? We actually had Thanksgiving dinner at this table last week! Yup, we never have the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with our friends who are visiting, so we decided to go ahead and celebrate in September. Trust me, Thanksgiving dinner is yummy no matter what the month.
A more simplified approach to fall carried all the way through our home. In our living room, I brought in just a few details. Seriously, I love this room. It is so peaceful and I can see all of nature out the windows so not much was needed.
On our coffee table, I assembled some of favorite items, old shoe forms with gorgeous writing on them, pine cones, vintage door knobs, locks and keys. A quirkly little display that is so perfectly me. One ceramic pumpkin was all our coffee table needed. One of my vintage doorknob pumpkins made it to my updated side table along with some other textural details.
One of my favorite details to add to our home in the fall is hydrangea flowers. I have continually added more plants over the years so I have plenty to pick when this time of year comes around. I have added them in almost every corner.
I discovered dahlia flowers in this beautiful rich garnet color this year and fell in love with them. I mixed them with hydrangea and put them in glass jars that I tucked into this old wooden box.
Our family room is where so much of our living really happens. I added lots of fall touches, but kept things still in the blues, greens and browns because I love keeping fall decorating bright and cool.
I am always amazed what a simple change in throw pillows and blankets can do for this space.
For our mantel, our brought our DIY chalkboard back up and simply expressed the truest sentiment I feel at this time of year - thankful. I was feeling very "farmhouse-y" and just added milk bottles and galvanized containers with hydrangea blooms. I added two grapevine pumpkins and an antler and called it a simple fall mantel.
Adding little sentimental and vintage details will always be my style and our side table in the family room was no exception.
I moved my vintage door table runner to the kitchen table and put my most favorite vintage box in all of land on top of it. I filled it with pine cones and more herbs.
Our kitchen gallery wall is still the same, but I added some sunflowers to bring in some fall color.
A simple paper mache pumpkin was added on top of my DIY console table and more hydrangea were added to the kitchen.
And so there you have it! My fall home tour! Thank you so much for coming by - but get ready to be inspired even more! Here are the links for today:
