Happy Valentine’s Day Sweet Friends
Truth time here.
I had a super cute Valentine's Day project for you today.
Steps on through 4 went awesome.
Step 5…total fail.
So what is a girl to do when she is buried in epic amounts of snow and her project doesn’t work?
She plays with her camera and some new tricks she learned last weekend.
And she reflects.
My mantel has some decorations with some rustic Valentine letters – but other that that, there is no Valentine’s decor.
And my kids did not want to do Valentine’s for their friends – not even just to be funny – for the first time.
And by the time I got to the store to pick something up for my kids, the shelves were empty.
It is kind of like if a tree falls in the woods, but no one is there to hear it….if your kids don’t want decorations or Valentines – does Valentine’s Day really happen?
And then my sweet honey calculated that this will be our 23rd Valentine’s Day together and reminded me of a very funny, although not at the time, Valentine’s Day story.
And my kids were in the office working on a project that I was “definitely not allowed to see.”
And I realized that I love making Valentines with my girls and decorating, but we are in a new season. And sometimes not needing all of the fluff is actually quite comforting.
Enjoy whatever season you are in.
If today is a hard day for you – I wish you the confidence to face the day knowing how amazing you are.
If you are snowed in without roses or cards – that’s okay – it’s never too late to make your own.
And if you have project fails - just pick up and try again!
Happy Valentine’s Day sweet friends!
