Maple Farm and Production Assistant

Location: Middletown, NY

Type: Full-time

Hours: Start times can vary seasonally, but will include some weekends during maple season.  Outside of the maple season, hours will be predominantly 9-5.

About Finding Home Farms

Finding Home Farms is a family-owned maple farm, café, and market located in the Hudson Valley. We produce certified organic maple syrup and a range of specialty food products. Our team works year-round to bring high-quality, locally made goods from our farm to homes across the country.

We’re looking for a motivated Maple Farm and Production Assistant to join our team and help with all aspects of our maple operation—from the woods to the bottling room to local deliveries.

Responsibilities

In the Woods (Seasonal)

Assist with tapping, maintaining, and pulling taps in maple trees

Help install, repair, and monitor tubing systems

Collect and transport sap during the production season

Support general woodland and maple forest maintenance

Production & Bottling (Year-round)

Bottle maple syrup to meet all state and food-safety code requirements

Operate filtering and bottling equipment safely and accurately

Label, pack, and prepare finished goods for sale or shipment

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bottling and storage areas

Maintain accurate bottling records

Assist in warehouse stocking, organization and record keeping.

Shipping & Deliveries (Year-round)

Assist with preparing wholesale and retail orders for shipping as well as executing the shipping process

Load and unload delivery vehicles

Help with local deliveries to stores, markets, and cafés as needed

Keep accurate logs for deliveries and product movement

General Farm Support

Participate in the maintenance of farm buildings, equipment, and grounds

Support the production team in other seasonal projects as needed

Qualifications

Dependable, hard-working, and able to work outdoors in varying weather

Must be able to work full days in the woods as needed during the maple season (winter)

Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards

Valid and clean driver’s license with no major motor vehicle violations.

Reliable transportation.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks daily

Prior experience in farming, maple production, food production, or shipping is a plus but not required—willingness to learn is most important.
