Finding Home Farms is a maple farm located in Greenville (Middletown), NY. We operate a cafe and market on-site at our farm where we serve coffee, specialty espresso drinks, waffles, sandwiches, pastries and more.

Location: The Sugarhouse at Finding Home Farms
Our family-run maple farm is looking for a friendly and hard-working individual to join our growing cafe & market team. The cafe & market proudly serves fresh-baked pastries, specialty coffee beverages, a small-batch locally sourced menu, and ice cream daily. We are a family-owned business and strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment while still maintaining a high level of quality.
Position:
The Cafe Manager will be responsible for managing cafe operations, retail store operations, and team members. This is a hands-on role working to motivate, train, develop, and direct the cafe team to deliver a high level of hospitable service and complete daily projects. This position oversees the administrative and operational tasks, including ordering, inventory, cash management, sanitation, and safety. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Cafe Manager will create and direct seasonal menus, including coffee drinks, create a positive environment and greet customers with kindness.
We are looking to hire a Manager to build a strong team and direct in-store operations. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a positive mindset and supervisory experience in a coffee shop or other fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate would also have a love for coffee & food and developing specials and menu additions.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Hire and train a strong team
- Oversee scheduling while ensuring the labor budget is managed efficiently
- Ensure high-quality food and beverage service to customers
- Plan and schedule prep work needed for weekly operations as well as special events
- Manage the planning and buying of inventory effectively and efficiently
- Ensure the kitchen & cafe is clean and compliant with health and safety standards
- Plan weekly menu specials & update online ordering to reflect each week’s selections.
- Be customer service oriented, friendly, and willing to meet the needs of customers while still ensuring fair treatment of our team.
- Willingness to fill in shifts as needed due to vacations, etc.
- Implement standard operating procedures and checklists
- Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accurate cash handling by staff
Key Qualifications for the Manager Position
- Management experience at a coffee shop or other fast-paced food service environment
- Strong knowledge of coffee, culinary techniques, and restaurant operations
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Familiarity and knowledge of financial management and budgeting
- Availability to work 40 hours a week, including weekends
- Strong leadership and initiative
- The ability to balance treating your team with respect and kindness while still maximizing team productivity
