Fall Decorating: Updated Kitchen Garden
The reality is, this year, our garden challenged us greatly.
We battled too much rain and an attack of squash bugs.
When I started to think about our fall decorating, I knew I wanted to take the few pumpkins and gourds that made it and display them proudly.
Our kitchen garden is right outside of our kitchen and visible from all parts of the kitchen and the family room, so I decided it would be the perfect place for us to enjoy the fruits of my husband’s labor (he really took the lead on the garden this year).
The herbs we had planted had already passed their prime, so I replaced them with kale and cabbage plants. According to the garden center, they should last well into the cold weather and they will change color over time. This is my first time buying kale and cabbage instead of mums and I am loving the choice.
I kept my beloved frog prince keeping guard.
I loved the plates before, so I added them all back in and sprinkled it with pumpkins and gourds.
And it really was that simple.
How about you? Have you updated any of your summer planters for fall?
Thanks so much for reading.
