The 18 Year Journey

This blog is the story of our journey toward finding home.

The most important part of our journey stared long before blogs even existed.  It started at a Halloween party when I was a gypsy and he was a pirate.

We’ve been together for 22 years, married for 18 today.

And now we are blessed to be a family of four with two amazing children who love him so much.

He has been my best friend, my biggest fan and the one who truly gets me.

He works harder and smarter than anyone I know and takes such good care of us.

They have learned so much from him on what type of person to be and I see their relationship growing every day.

And he is so loved by my whole family, my parents included.

He gets up crazy early to make exercise a priority and so that it doesn’t cut into all that life holds for us.  I could learn from that.

It was a long 26.2 miles yesterday, but he did it and did so very well.

Thank you so much to my incredible husband for 18 years.  I  know that I am already blessed beyond my greatest expectations.

I have been so fortunate to grow up with you.  And I look forward to growing old with you.

You have been an example of faith, hard work, kind heartedness and grace and I would not be the person I am today with you having been by my side.

Happy Anniversary Dana.

Thanks for following along for this part of our journey and reading.

  4. Thanks so much Laura for sharing this part of your story! It sounds like you have a wonderful man for a hubby and he is equally blessed to have you! Your beautiful girls are a testimony of the love you two share as husband and wife. My hubby and I celebrated our 39th anniversary on Saturday, October 6th. We happily shared our special day with our granddaughter’s very large 1st birthday party. Such fun! Blessings to you and your family!

  7. My wife is too kind. I am very priviliged and blessed to have her as my bride. 18 years, two wonderful children and a life that has granted me more gifts than I could imagine. Thank you Laura. With love.

  8. Laura, I remember going to your wedding. I remember after the cermony, in the receiving line, (where you looked stunning, by the way), you could not contain yourself. I remember you were so excited to introduce me to your “husband”. You said the word “husband” like a kid would say they are going to Disney World, full of pride and excitement and love. Congratulations on 18 years! Cuz.
