Summer Home tour

Summer Home Tour from Finding Home

So, if you haven’t already heard, the ever so sweet Gina from Shabby Creek Cottage is hosting a party today – a summer home tour party.  So I thought I would join along.

Our summers are probably just like yours.  We slow down and linger outside longer.

The front of our house is a little more colorful.

And, we tend to get pretty patriotic.

Even in our entry foyer.

The guest room is spruced up in hopes of many summer visitors.

And our kitchen becomes more about simpler meals, grilling and veggies from our garden.

Our family room is filled with more yellows, brighter colors and fresh flowers.

Our dining room is now all fancy with a new fabulous rug from Dash & Albert and plenty of fresh flowers.

Our office has a new colorful spot to hang out in.

But most of our time is spent in our backyard.

We spend so much time out here, even as the nights become cooler.  So we keep a basket of old quilts ready to snuggle in.

  1. Laura, I love seeing your home in any season as it is so beautiful, but when I saw your backyard and the vintage inspired screen house I thought that this is the perfect place to spend summer days. A cottage in the backyard! LOVE IT!! I hope you have a beautiful summer and enjoy many days by the pool and in your “cottage”. Blessings, Pamela

  2. I love the rug in your dinning room-ooohh soooo much! Where did you get it? I can’t wait to get my space all spruced up for summer 🙂

  3. It’s sooo beautiful!! I came over from Shabby Creek Cottage. I’ve peeked around your blog a bit to try to find the answer to this question, but would you mind sharing your guest room wallpaper source? I love it. Thanks for sharing your home!

  4. Beuatiful! Love your home, and especially loved the peek at your front flower beds. Would love to see more shots of them- very inspiring:-)

  5. Your house is so beautiful…. I had so many comments in my head as I scrolled through but kept thinking of more and more because there is so much to see. Love the screened porch and backyard – what a fabulous colourful amazing space! Loved your tour!!

  6. Your home is beautiful, I love your gorgeous kitchen, that stove is fabulous! I have always wanted one of those…
Your back yard is also gorgeous! Thank you for the chance to see your lovely home.

  7. Your home is so elegant yet comfortable at the same time, Laura! The vintage finds mixed into your decor work perfectly, and I love that you pay attention to enjoying fresh flowers throughout – not enough of us do that, saving flowers only for special occasions. The guest room looks like the ultimate place to relax, and your guests probably never want to leave! I can see why you spend so much time outdoors: if I had your backyard, pool, deck, screened-in patio? I’d be there too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your home and yard! I’m truly inspired!

  8. Your house is beautiful. In your guest bedroom, I noticed your maple leaf art made of branches. It’s shown in the top left corner of the picture. Where in the world did you find it? A vintage or thrift store? It’s lovely!!
