One of the hardest parts of decorating can sometimes be choosing a paint color. I think we put so much pressure on the decision because color on a wall makes such an impact. When I choose colors for clients, for some reason – I am able to make decisions, but for myself – forget it, I get just as overwhelmed as everyone else. I end up with several paint swatches taped all over my walls. These decisions can be even harder these days with more and more homes having open floor plans. Now you have to decide on how one color flows into the next as well. Don’t you wish you had something that helped with the process? Well, today I would like to introduce to a new website called My Colortopia. Here you will find a ton of advice from seasoned bloggers as well as many tools to help you take on projects for yourself. So how do they help with color choices? We all want our homes to be a reflection of ourselves and communicate the personalities of the people who live there. The challenge is figuring out how to translate the feelings we want to create in our homes through the colors that we put on our walls. So how do you find “your colors”? Well, My Colortopia has created a fun and easy tool that does just that called My Life My Colors Quiz. Go ahead – try it! Basically, you answer a series of multiple choice questions that lead you to your color choices. Not only does the quiz provide one color, but it provides two additional colors that work together well. This addresses one of the other big challenges we all face – how to choose colors in multiple rooms that flow into one another. The best part is it is really quick and seems to be spot on. Here are the colors that my quiz resulted in. This final grouping of colors not only are well reflected in our home, but also here on my blog! You can then get a list of each of your color’s name and number for ease of shopping. See, easy peasy done! Now, you just have to paint!
I have been sponsored by Glidden brand paint to write this post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
