Christmas Table Ideas – Mini Wood Slice Wreath Place Setting

Wood Slice Mini Wreath Christmas Place Setting

The big day is getting near – Christmas.

Our halls are decked (mostly) and Christmas shopping is in full swing.  Now it is time to plan your Christmas table.  So I thought today I would share some Christmas table ideas – wood slice mini wreaths – that are perfect for your table and as  It is the perfect personal touch to your holiday table and can be used as a decoration, place marker and can even be a gift to your guests when they leave.

Or, if you want to keep them all to yourself, they would be perfect grouped on a wall.

And the best part, they could not be easier.

Materials Needed:

– Small and thin wood slices.  If you are going to cut them yourself, it needs to be dry wood.  We cut ours using a chop saw.  If not, Michael’s is now selling them in bags.

– Small embroidery hoops (1 for every two place settings because they have two pieces)

– Hot glue

– Desired embellishments

Directions: Simply separate your embroidery hoop into two pieces, set one aside.  Using hot glue, attach the wood slices around the ring once.  Then follow through a second time overlapping the points where the first round met.  Embellish as desired.

If you are planning on being able to hang them, add a loop of ribbon to the hoop before you begin gluing on the wood slices.

See, I told you it was simple!

Mini Wood Slice Wreath Tutorial

I created two different styles to show you how easily you can change the style direction.

Christmas Wood Slice Place Setting

For this one, I folded over two types of ribbon, glued them in pace, glued in some small greenery and than glued the crystal snowflake in place.

I love the contrast of the more elegant details with the rustic wood.

If you wanted to able to change things out for future use, don’t glue them on, just tie on ribbon and embellishments that work for your tables setting.

Christmas Tablescape Idea

For this one, I glued on a small red bow and then tied on a tag and some vintage bell ornaments.  You could also tie on a blank tag and use it to write the names of your guests for a place card holder.

I have also made full size wreaths using the same concept for both the fall and Christmas.
