Christmas Decorating Has Begun! – 8 Ideas

I am full on thinking about Christmas decorating.

But first, lets step back for a minute.

Thanksgiving was so nice.

We hosted for the first time and had our family in for a relaxing and fun day.

Did anyone else have their turkey two hours earlier than you calculated for?

A friend of mine claims that she has a magic roasting pan that cooks her turkey really fast.  We decided I must also have a magic pan as well.

But not to worry, all was well and it just made room in the oven earlier for all of the sides.

I love Thanksgiving dinner and all the traditional side dishes, but man, that makes for a lot of dishes.

This morning we made Advent wreaths at church and cut down our tree.

Our Elf on the Shelf is up to no good and the first day of the Advent calendar was opened.

As the traditions hold, we are moving right into Christmas bliss.

And starting Monday morning, a whole group of bloggers are sharing how they have decorated their homes for Christmas this year.

It all starts at Jennifer Rizzo’ blog.

Each day, she will be sharing the day’s homes – so make sure to stop by.  It is sure to be a tour of amazing and creative homes.

I will be sharing our home decorated this year for Christmas on Tuesday – but in case you missed last year, you can see our home tour here.

And since I had a little jump start on some Christmas ideas for this year, here are the ideas from this year so far – in case you missed them!

Quick and Easy Sharpie Ornaments

One of my favorite DIY ideas – and I will use this long past Christmas.

A great gift idea..

And, there is still time to make an Advent calendar – just skip the first few days.  And this one is really easy!

And my favorite wreath…

Wishing a fantastic day and happy decorating!

And be sure to stop back Tuesday morning for our home tour.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!! I am glad to hear you had a great holiday! I hear you on the dishes too. I even made some of my dinner the day before and I still ended up with a ton, even washing as i went during the day on Thursday. I can’t wait to see your home all decked out. You always do such a wonderful job each year.

  2. I’m really looking forward to all the Christmas home tours this week. There will be lots of ideas even though I’m all decorated already. I may be pinning like crazy for next year. Pamela

  3. My turkey never comes out on time either! I did not miss the two day cooking marathon or the two kitchen clean up this time. we had a catered Thanksgiving dinner in our home the first Sat in Nov with 35 family and freinds & I even hired kitchen helpers. (Church freinds are wonderful & they need to earn a living too.) It was the most delicious food ever. It was really my mother-in-law’s memorial or Homegoing Celebration but my brilliant husband determined the menu knowing i had surgery coming up right before the actual holiday. This year I have enjoyed hearing about everyone else’s celebrations. Yours sounds great.. The only problem i see is (unnamed) reclaimed reindeer needs his own little moniker 🙂 least he feel like he’s not part of the family cause i know you love him as much as I do.

  4. Laura, I’m so glad I found your website. Right on time for the holidays! I just started blogging and I will definitely be back here for more decor ideas. I hope you have a great holiday season with your family.

  5. You may have studied at a famous culinary school, may even have the degree and skills to show
off that you are a good chef, and may even be appointed as the
head chef by the management, but do you have what it takes to be a good leader.
Choosing a Kohler Kitchen Sink means you are choosing the best
for your kitchen. Before you worry your pretty little head on the style of cabinets you want, you should first choose between opting
for custom design cabinets or ready to assemble kitchen cabinets.
