10 Minute Decorating Ideas – Sharpie Art Planter
Hello fine friends – today I am back with another 10 Minute Decorating Idea – because really, sometimes, all we have is ten minutes to do a little zhushing in our homes. This time, I sharing another Sharpie Art idea – a Sharpie Art Planter.
And I am pretty sure this will be my last Sharpie Art project for awhile. I am putting the Sharpie down - for now.
I started with some plain white planters that I found at Ikea. These were great because they already had lines to keep me straight – but it is not necessary.
My Favorite Decorating Ideas - Trays
Have you even noticed that there are certain things you do over and over in decorating your home? A trick or idea that just works so well that you find yourself using it in almost every room?
For me, it is one of my favorite decorating ideas - trays.
Such a simple idea that works so well.
Not only does it work in almost any space, or any surface (even walls), but is a really quick way to make a space work. In fact, this could be one of my biggest tricks for the ten minuting decorating ideas series I recently started.
So, I thought I would share with you all the ways I use trays in my home.
I love the texture of this leather-like tray with the nail-head trim. It is perfect in my living room to group together items like magazines, pictures frames and tchokas.
Ten Minute Decorating ideas – Interchangeable Art
Hello sweet friends – today I am sharing a super fun and crazy easy 10 Minute Decorating Idea. This time we are talking about interchangeable art.
I have been wanting to rework my bookcase shelves forever – they have just not been working for me. So, instead of being overwhelmed by the whole project, I just did one shelf – actually two.
But this doesn’t need to be a bookcase – it can be on a tabletop, a shelf – or the old fashioned way of on a wall. The secret is to pick or make a frame that you love – and then change the art out as your mood changes. It is a perfect way to quickly perk up a room.

Easy Plate Message Board
When I shared my first in the series of 10 Minute Decorating Ideas – I had originally planned to include this project – a plate message board.
But then, I realized, it was so easy – it doesn’t even take 10 minutes.
I am big love of leaving messages and the power of words – so why not have a pretty and simple way to leave inspiration, quotes, song lyrics, scripture, or even an apology – right where everyone can see it.
10 Minute Decorating Ideas – In the Kitchen
As we enter further into 2014, my brain is finally starting to kick into gear.
I have several bigger projects in mind – Peanut’s room, a workshop in the garage and finally getting my bedroom how I like it (how I like it is still being determined).
But sometimes, I just want to quickly pull together something. I want to pull together an area that is lacking or needs a little sprucing up.
So, I thought, I might start a fun new series – 10 minute decorating ideas. Projects that will take ten minutes or less and will add a little bit of pretty to our lives.

DIY Mason Jar Solar Light
I have a long standing love affair with vintage blue mason jars.
So it only made sense that I would use mason jars to make simple DIY solar lights.
I simply used some ground hooks to hang them around the pool, but they work just as well on a tabletop.
