This might not look like much to you, but to me it is gorgeous. This is the area in front of our new sugar house. The water issue from poor drainage and tons of rain has finally been fixed and we were able to lay sod down. Okay, I did none of it, but there is sod down and it looks beautiful! And in the category of the greatest news ever - we finally have our Certificate of Occupancy! That means the building is ours to start moving into. That is of course after the final things are done and the largest scale clean up we have ever encountered. There is still lots to do - like stain the front door and the paint the trim around, finish the trim inside, some painting, the fireplace needs a few more details finished, paint a few doors - ugh, that is still quite a bit. I am okay with that because we are finally official and that feels really good! We spent this past week at two different trade shows - one in Brooklyn and one at the Javitz Center. Between set up and attending the shows that meant commuting to the city for five days in a row. Anyone who does that on a full time basis has my full respect. It is not for the faint of heart. The food shows are always fun though. How can you not be in a good mood when there are so many things to taste and try? We had a lot of great conversations and hopefully some new opportunities develop from the shows. And now I thought I would share some things I found interesting around the web this week... Despite the fact that this was a somewhat limited study, these results of a study on happiness are really interesting. This looks like something I might be cooking soon! I just ordered this top on sale and I can't wait to wear it - I love anything embroidered! This summer table is just so lovely. This project is totally doable and I love the "look for less" approach. I love a project that is this simple and easy and looks great. And a favorite project that shows our love for the good ol' USA. Baseball, beach and a flag - it doesn't get much better than that! Hope you have an amazing fourth of July weekend! SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave SaveSave]>>
