I have a secret to confess.

I am not the best hostess in the world.

If you come to my home, I am more likely to want to sit down and talk with you, pour you another beverage than worry about cleaning the table.

I am more likely to cook enough food for an army because I will be so worried about not having enough. Or, like when my girlfriends came in last week, I will be completely ill-prepared and be so thankful that you showed up with your own food.

Some people are a natural at it.

They can perfectly judge how much food to make, it is always delicious and when you turn around, everything is put away and clean.

But I can promise you this.

I will be so glad you are here.

I will know that you are the type of person who doesn’t worry about the mess in the sink and will probably help me clean it anyway.

I can promise you that I will try to make you feel incredibly welcome. I will make sure that you are not worried if something spills because it is easy to wipe up.

I will most likely have candles burning, low lamps turned on and music playing because I think the atmosphere around us helps us relax and have fun.

I hope the day you come is one of my “inspired days” when I make a favorite recipe like Maple Bacon Cheese Cups. But, it is just as likely we will order delivery pizza so all we have to do is throw out the box!
