Do you have a spot in your house that you never seem to be able to get how you want it?

For me, it is the shelf over my bed, and to certain degree my whole bedroom.

So, yesterday when I should have been doing a whole lot of other things, I decided that was good time to start rearranging my shelf.

Not laundry or cooking for company that was coming, shelf rearranging.

This is where I started from. Nothing wrong with it, just a little on the flat side.

I knew I wanted to keep the painting, found last year at an auction because I really love it, so that is what I built around.

I stole the stitch work from the guest bedroom, along with the small painting on the right.

This was much better in my opinion, but I also picked up another painting at an auction last week that I thought would work well.

So, the blank space to the left of the shelf…

Now looks like this.

I tried a whole bunch of options to the right of the shelf, but I haven’t find the right thing yet.

Well, unless you count the round frame I left around the thermostat. Not sure if it is like putting lipstick on a pig, but I am going to live with it for now until I find the right piece(s) for that space.

The picture was from when I went to NH a few weeks ago.

And yes, I could not sleep the other night and I watched the Sex & the City movie. This is the line Mr. Big whispers in Carrie’s ear when they finally got married.

I thought it was sweet just the same – after all, it was first said by Beethoven.

In the end, the space is much more us – dreams of a country home, a little bit of God guiding us and a message of love.

Thanks for reading.
