Easter Spring Fern & Floral Wreath DIY
Today I am joining a lovely group of bloggers hosted by Lory of DesignThusiasm to share Easter Entertaining ideas and if you are joining me from Maison de Cinq, welcome The fact of the matter is, I will not be doing much decorating for Easter this year in our home. And, currently all of our tables are also doing double duty as office / work space for our business. That said, I didn't want this important season to go by without brightening things up and bringing in some Easter spirt, so I decided to make this simple fern & floral wreath DIY.

I have found myself very drawn to ferns over the last year or so but I have found that they don't really keep very well once picked, so I decided to break one of my main rules - I used fake! Have you looked at the options for fake flowers lately? They really are pretty good looking, and when they go on 50% off sale at the craft store, you can't beat it. Now, I will never loose my love of fresh flowers in our house, but this brings in flowers in a way that they don't need water and (hopefully) won't die. What you will need is two circle bases to start - or you could just do one. These are from an old maple bucket that wasn't holding together any longer. You could use almost anything round and even a simple wreath form as your base. I grabbed two sets of ferns, two of the white flower style (but I only needed one) and one of each of the purple flowers and green flowers. You will also need floral wire and a wire cutter.

Start by using the wire cutters to break down the ferns into individual pieces.

Then use the wired to attach them to the wreath at one point. For the larger one, I did the center piece of wire to hold one to each side then tucked another one behind each of the first ones.

Using the same wire section, keep tucking in more branches. As you can see, I cut individual pieces from the overall branch and tucked them in from there starting with the white flowers, then the green ones and then I ended with the purple ones.

Then I used some black and white ribbon for a little contrast and hung them on my mirror. I love how the reflection doubles them.

All in all, this project could be completed in about 15 minutes and brings in a nice bit of color and brightness for Easter and all the way through the Spring season.

And now is the time when you can see what everyone else had to share - enjoy!
