Sometimes decorating for a holiday can be color confusing.

At Halloween, are you going to go classic black and orange?

At Christmas, blue and white, or green and red, or all white?

But for Memorial Day, decorating ideas are pretty straight forward.

Red. White. Blue.

We are hosting a gathering of softball families this weekend, so I have started pulling together some of the decorations. I found the fantastic stars at The Christmas Tree Shops. I think I am going to hang them in the porch and there is already one on the front door. You can even put lights in them. Love.

And what is more American than a basket full of twizzlers candy?

I got the bandana inspiration from this great post over at Uncommon Designs.

It is a great example of how easy it is to get all patriotic for the holiday.

You could even just put some colored ribbon in a basket.

Or simply cut and fold some paper medallions for red, white and blue paper.

And of course, the easiest option is to simply hang an American Flag.

Whatever you do, it doesn’t need to be complicated.

I know I like to take the time to show my American pride and express our thanks to all who have served our country.

Wishing you all a holiday weekend filled with fun, relaxation, time with people you love and a thankful heart for how lucky we are in this country.

And to my non-American friends, I also wish you a weekend filled with fun, relaxation and time with people you love.

Thanks for reading!
